Given the choice by McCain to go with Sarah Palin as his new VP running mate. What are your opinions on this situation. I haven't looked into her politics at all, but I like to hear people talk about it first before I have exposure so that I know what specific issues are the choke points. I think McCain's main goal was diffusion on this choice. How better to rope the disgruntled hillary voters then to grab a female VP? But I may be wrong. Whats your take on this?

go go crappy laptop on a crappy hotel connection He went with Palin to grab Hillary supporters, plain and simple. Half of Hillary's supporters only liked her because she's married to Bill, and the other half only liked her because they wanted a woman and a democrat who wasn't as freakishly liberal as Obama. If Obama is still too liberal for them, and McCain can keep preaching how he crossed the party lines back in the early 2000s and worked so much with Dems... adding a woman to his VP slot is a HUGE pull for them. And then there are the really, really stupid voters out there who will just vote for the only female ticket. And face it, what Republicans is McCain *possibly* going to alienate with this move? No one is going to flop all the way to Obama's overly liberal ass because they don't like McCain's VP. So this is a total win-win for him. Or at least a win-push. As far as her being inexperienced. I fucking HATE career politicians, so I like her more because of that. And for Chrissakes. Look at Dan Quayle. You wanna talk about a stupid fucking person in public office, he tops even dubya. Doesn't take that much to be a VP. This chick can pull it off and will hopefully even do a good job of it. |

Interesting, thanks for your input Khatib. I kinda felt a similar way, it was the intelligent move from a purely "strategic" standpoint. As of yet, I don't want to vote for either person. So im probably gonna have to choose between the douche and the turd yet again. |

Fuck this whole shitty election. If ancient McCain dies in office, which is more than fucking likely considering there are fossils younger and in better health then him, this dumb twat will be running the fucking country. A no-name woman governor out of a state with a total population of 57 people, Alaska. Well that sounds like some serious fucking political experience right there, "Its cold stay inside." - "K its warmer go outside". Bing-fuckin-o. I'm not voting for any of these cunts. We'd be better off putting a fucking primate or maybe a large vegetable into office. Edited by Offbeat, Sep 3 2008, 09:25 PM.

She is a total failure in everyone's eyes except John McCains and the far right that at this point are basically forced by the decision to support her and all they can really do is to give her minor ackomplishments higher regard then they really deserve. John McCain picked her for the Hilliary vote that is the only reason, she made that very clear to the American public in her first speech. She is a far right and a religious nut. You think Obama church pick was bad look at this video from her church. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VtF7Ypr1hY God help us if MaCain wins, her total lack of knowledge is scary, remember her "What exactly does the VP do?" interview. If this women becomes president she would be a total tool and a puppet, a attractive face to spew NWO agendas and further George W Bushes globalists dreams. |

She thinks her new retard baby is a "gift" from god. This is pretty standard sensationalizing from Christians... taking something that absolutely IS a misfortune and trying to turn it into something that is a good thing through the magic of believing in stupid shit (the divine plan). She believes that there is some purpose that it happened... and perhaps can dream up a productive outcome to believe in, projecting what she believes gods intention might be, but it's a self-defense mechanism. After all of the "why me" thoughts and all the emotions of victimization are out of her system she will still be left with the alternative of being a fucking hypocrite and ruining her career (aborting the thing) or talking it up in the hopes that she could convince herself that all of her uppity "it's a blessing" rhetoric might begin to convince even her. Most people brainwash themselves into believing their own bullshit through repetition. She smoked pot when she was younger, which sounds like something positive until you read into it. ... I'm not faulting her for getting high, that shit is awesome... but the thing that makes me angry is that she lied about enjoying it. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/08/29/politics/politico/thecrypt/main4397109.shtml?weed She's toyed with the idea of banning books, when the Librarian in Wasilla made it public that she would resist (properly) any attempts of censorship, miss cunt fuck attempted to get her fired but backed down after strong local objection.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/03/us/politics/03wasilla.html?_r=2&hp&oref=slogin&oref=slogin She has quite a history of just replacing people she disagrees with. "In 2007, the Alaska Creamery Board recommended closing Matanuska Maid Dairy, an unprofitable state-owned business. Palin objected, citing concern for dairy farmers and a recent infusion of $600,000 in state money. Palin subsequently replaced the entire membership of the Board of Agriculture and Conservation.[73] The new board reversed the decision to close the dairy." ~Wiki ...And Again. "On July 11, 2008, Palin dismissed Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan, citing performance-related issues.[83] She then offered him an alternative position as executive director of the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, which he turned down.[84][85] Monegan alleged that his dismissal was retaliation for his failure to fire Palin’s former brother-in-law, Alaska State Trooper Mike Wooten, who was involved in a child custody battle with Palin’s sister, Molly McCann." In short, this bitch has no education... a bachelors degree in communications journalism and a minor in political science. She competed in a few local small town beauty pageants and then ran for office and won because of single issue voters, and probably brainless horny Alaskan males. While governor she also opposed the expansion of the city library (some pro-education cunt this is) and made cuts to the budget of the city museum. BUT, somehow found the revenue for a neato sports facility. "and reduced spending on the town museum while opposing a bigger library. She also was mayor when the local sales tax was increased to build a popular sports complex." The sports complex prompted an "immanent domain" lawsuit that put the city over budget. http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/03/palin.track.record/ "immanent domain" BTW was never intended as something the government could use whenever it needed a place for something. It was meant for only the essentials like a court house, city hall... not entertainment complexes... Most of these Conservative fucks like to have pictures of themselves taken when they're complaining about jobs being shipped over seas. I have no doubt this bitch is any different in that respect... and I'll just go ahead and assume she believes that it's bad when that happens. http://www.canada.com/calgaryherald/news/story.html?id=2e84b1e8-9a4a-4558-ad05-21b517c50fae Why would she award a Canadian company 500$ million to construct a natural gas pipeline for the united states? It's a multibillion dollar project. Other factoids about this piece of shit: She's a life long NRA member. Belongs to an anti-abortion-rights group called Feminists for Life. http://www.feministsforlife.org/ Opposes civil unions. (gotta deny queers equal rights because we pro-liberty and pro-freedom and pro-equality, unless you're a nigger, a jew, or gay.) She's not just a Christian, she's Pentecostal (they believe in flopping around on the ground and babbling incoherent bullshit to channel the "holy spirit") she's not just a bible thumper, but an Evangelical bible thumper. They call it "speaking in tongues" but you will recall the denomination of those churches featured in the "Jesus Camp" movie when considering this cunts TRUE positions on issues (the positions she holds but can't say publicly because she's a dishonest politician trying to make a buck.) Her husband works for BP, her family is as drenched in oil as the Bush family. Here is an Op-Ed she wrote about polar bears. It's not an interesting read, but if you want to have a first hand look at how someone performs intellectually, read the kinds of arguments they present. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/05/opinion/05palin.html?_r=1&scp=4&sq=bearing%20up%20by%20sarah%20palin&st=cse&oref=slogin I'll summarize this one. "you shouldn't put polar bears on the endangered species list because the government already knows this and bears are great we all like bears and we, the government, asked some smart people if the bears were in trouble and they said no unless you're dumb and you believe in climate change LOL so dumb but so then like we were talking about ice melting and one time we did this thing with a goose and it was based on science but climate change is uncertain and oh shit wait let me pose for this picture..." Oh, sweet find... I haven't picked through this yet, but this is the website for the church she currently attends. http://jccalaska.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+FTContentServer?pagename=FaithHighway/10000/3000/582JU/vision Juneau Christian Center Edited by Lucretius, Sep 4 2008, 12:58 AM.

All these points are interesting. I took this evening off and watched the Republican convention, and to be honest, I can sum the entire thing up in one word. Scary. The Republicans, just like the democrats have latched onto a single a word and are just repeating it over and over. While obama is ranting about change that is never going to happen, it seems like the pubs are just gonna keep saying terrorist over and over again. I hate it when the red party uses this invisible boogeyman tactic to scare people into voting. The most sickening thing I heard said during the entire process was "John McCain is certainly a man who isn't looking for a fight, but certainly isn't scared of one either." Of course hes not, because he and his family won't be the ones fighting on the front lines getting killed. No politician ever has anything to do with a war after it has already begun. It will be people like you and me who are getting shot at while the president and his lackeys sit around drinking Scotch and shooting golf. We really need a serious overhaul of this bipartisan system. The good ol' boys on both sides of the fence have gotta go, and its really time for americans to stop voting by party association and formulate their own opinions. At this point I'm kinda just praying for the end to come quickly, because it is certainly on the way. Thanks for the input Lucretius, definitely an interesting read. Here's what im getting at. We've reached the final life cycle in our nation as the number one world power. Moronic wars of attrition, playing the bitch to foreign energy, and dozens of idiotic mistakes made by the people at the top have placed us there. We're in a huge recession, and whereas many were hoping for solid leaders to step forward for candidacy during this election, we once again have another group of blowhards who aren't worth a damn. The titanic that was the US is at this point sinking, and I don't think anything is going to patch the leak. The people that live here are complacent, would rather complain then just oust the bipartisan, corporately owned government. They are happy to go about their day to day life just pretending like everything will be ok forever. In reality, there is very little that is "ok" with the way the nation is being run. We just rehash the same old arguments every election term without thinking about alternate solutions to the problems. Case and point...oil. Lets not look for alternative fuels. Lets Drill more. Even though economically the price of gas will only go down a maximum of 35 cents if we build refineries etc. It took the netherlands only ten years to make themselves entirely energy productive. If a pissant country like the netherlands can run everything off wind, water and nuclear power, why can't we? It's simple. Because our country is run by men with interests in the oil industry. Why would they want to crucify an institution that makes them rich and fat? Its just sad to see this happen, because I AM a patriot, and honestly I want my country to stand for the things it was founded on. But in a world where you can't trust your own government anymore, it seems like we are pushing more towards an executively run state, and the freedoms of the individual are being discarded so that weak minded morons can feel safer. (i.e. patriot act. THE TERRORISTS ARE COMING OOGIE BOOGIE BOOGIE!) I keep seeing scenes from V for vendetta when I think about it. Kinda sad. |
