Name some of your favorite movies. Since their is such age difference in this guild, this should be interesting.

Godfather- Greatest Gangster movie
Goodfellas - 2nd Greatest gangster movie
Pulp Fiction - Tarantino at his best.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - No where near as good as the book but still a great fucking movie
Full Metal Jacket - Kubrick best movie imo.
Dark Knight - Best movie villain ever also some great action.
Lion King - This cartoon was awesome, it was the first cartoon I saw as a kid that showed death.

I love movies too many to name so I will try and keep it short. In no particular order.

The Shawshank Redemption
Boondock Saints
Fog of War
Band of Brothers (technically a miniseries but it is AWESOME)
Appleseed
Ninja Scroll
Paprika
The Usual Suspects
The 13th Warrior
Dune
The Constant Gardner
Army of Darkness
Lawrence of Arabia
Rear Window
Momento
Life of Brian
Lock, Stock, & 2 Smoking Barrels
Snatch
Donnie Darko
The Big Lebowski
The Princess Bride
Good Will Hunting
Blade Runner (All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die.)

You so CRAAZZYY!!
Just glancing at my 5 star ratings on Netflix and going down the list picking out actual favs -- so these are alphabetical:

12 Monkeys
Aladdin
Bourne Trilogy
Braveheart
Chasing Amy
Far and Away
Fight Club
Gladiator
Good Will Hunting
Hot Fuzz
Indiana Jones -- original trilogy, but not so much Temple of Doom
Last of the Mohicans
Lethal Weapon - 1 and 2
Lucky Number Slevin
Mallrats
The Matrix - ONLY the first one, the others don't exist to me.
Mean Girls
Princess Bride
Rambo: First Blood
Rocky 1, 2, 4
Rounders
Shawshank
Star Wars - original trilogy
Terminator 2

Hmm, I left out a LOT of my 5 starred comedies. I guess it's just tough to place them up with some of the other stuff.

Bonus recommendation -- best holiday film:

Santa's Slay. Watch it and love it. Cheesiest thing ever, and hilarious. Was actually written and directed by Brett Ratner's assistant of all people.

I *still* hate Brett Favre.

Everyone knows the best Holiday film is National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, followed closely by Elf.

DUDE!!!!! Seriously you have got to watch Blade Runner. The directors cut preferably. Watch it at night, in the dark, on a large tv, with a good sound system, when you wont be disturbed.

You can skip IJ and the temple of doom. But you should watch Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. No special requirements for watching them.

You've obviously never seen Santa's Slay. Just watch it. Even now, in the middle of summer, just Netflix it, and check it out.

Pretty much any science fiction or fantasy movie that is revered by nerd culture, you can include as a favorite
A Clockwork Orange
The Royal Tenenbaums
There Will Be Blood
Gattaca
Tons of documentaries: King of Kong, Darkon, Maxed out, Supersize Me, Chasing Buddha, etc.
The Shawshank Redemption
Saving Private Ryan
Fight Club
many more Im sure I've forgotten
I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person

Mr. Brooks

...also any movie set in a post-apocalypse world, or the happening of it: Terminator Salvation*, zombie movies, I Am Legend and it's predecessors, as in The Omega Man (I think there was another movie before or after that as well), Planet of the Apes, The Day After Tomorrow.... etc, you get the idea.

...also any movies set in medieval times: Braveheart, 300, Excalibur-related movies, Troy, Kingdom of Heaven...and I'm going to have to put the LOTR series here even though it was more of a fantasy series.

...also this one very specific and small genre which I can't really describe - set in primitive times, or the portraying of a certain culture that is still in primitive times or in a primitive time WHILE being an action movie: 10,000 B.C. and Apocalypto.

Hell, I'm going to just go ahead and put the war movie genre in here as well, just for all of the war action that I crave: Saving Private Ryan, Flag of our Fathers, Pearl Harbor, etc.

*yes, I know the story sucked compared to the first two Terminators, but I still enjoyed watching it as it was set in a post-apocalypse world.
